What would you like to know?

If you’re already familiar with navigation solutions based on augmented reality, then you can feel free to skip the following information. You nerd!

USPs

  • Fully configurable, flexible system, adaptable for any requirements
  • No third-party providers
  • European product
  • Full data control (server-based positioning, also possible locally)
  • Product, implementation, and content development all from a single source
  • Available out of the box as a branded or white-label solution and, in the near future, as an SDK for developers
  • Attractive cost model (less maintenance required)
  • The only solution on the market that offers navigation without GPS or any other hardware (e.g., beacons, Wi-Fi) and much higher precision of just a few centimeters
  • In other words, it can guide your customers through buildings and explain products
  • Helpful for maintenance conducted in larger buildings
  • Reduced barriers to purchase, as products are easy to find and the customer can be guided straight to the shelf/product
  • Manufacturers can present multimedia content directly at their product and thus promote it in a way that is unique and distinguishes it from other products
  • Support for purchase decisions

AR navigation? What for, how come, why?

When was the last time you used a street map? And when was the last time you thought, “Crazy, the GPS signal is absolutely perfect – it basically navigates on its own”? Not to mention the fact that there’s no GPS whatsoever inside buildings. Or if there is, the precision tends to be somewhere between 150 and 250 meters. Pretty inaccurate for pedestrian navigation that’s supposed to be reliable and helpful, wouldn’t you say?

It’s precisely for this reason, that companies are increasingly interested in integrating augmented reality into their navigation solutions. The arguments are plain to see: higher user-friendliness, a more intuitive, interactive experience, and a great many other benefits. But more importantly, AR offers higher precision and reliability than other solutions, which is what makes this technology exceedingly interesting for indoor navigation, in particular.

So, does that mean GPS is on its way out?

There’s no question that GPS has changed the way in which we move through and explore the world. But when it comes to indoor navigation, GPS seems like a relic of the past. It’s imprecise, prone to malfunction, and simply unsuitable for indoor use.

But not to worry – after all, we live in the 21st century. AR integration can expand space with interactive elements. For example, a virtual guide can be integrated into the real environment, providing immediate, precise step-by-step navigation in the actual environment.

Virtual retail spaces, specific, long-term analysis of customer data, 3D product presentations, and real-time reaction monitoring … the benefits of AR-based navigation are just as diverse as their potential applications.

And now for the nerdy stuff

Technical features:

  • Flexible two-level CMS with variable permission management
  • GPS/hybrid capability for (navigation) outdoors
  • Stores can upload and change content on virtual billboards
  • Plug-in integration into generic or dedicated applications
  • Localization data can be stored in the cloud or on local servers (100% control of building data)
  • All servers with Kubernetes are compatible
  • Collection of user data (in compliance with the new European data protection laws)
  • Point-to-point navigation with centimeter precision

  • Using AR as navigation and CMS in the background enables magical, interactive product experiences (products can be expanded to include 3D elements)
  • A whole host of retail-specific APIs can be incorporated to accommodate comparison of product data or positions, for example
  • Specific, long-term analysis options (e.g., customer flows, real-time reaction to offers, use of digital coupons)
  • Additional modules developed for the product can be added or expanded
